The Springboard charity helps young people achieve their potential and provides skills development programmes for unemployed of any age to gain work within the hospitality, leisure and tourism industries. Now in their 14th year, the Springboard award dinner and celebration of excellence within our industry was held at Novotel London West, Thursday 24th November 2016.

Serviceline were once again proud sponsors of the event with over 550 people in attendance celebrating the outstanding work and new initiatives across the industries. Sales and marketing director, Graham Skinner (pictured) was a key member of the judging panel and presented the Education and Industry Partnership Award to QHotels who won three awards on the night for their education, recruitment and digital media practices throughout the year.

Graham Skinner commented on the event “The Springboard awards are always a fantastic evening, 2016 showcased once again the great work and focus on personal development being undertaken by many within the industry. Congratulations to those who won an award for their achievements in 2016.”

As a result of meeting our emissions targets towards ISO 50001 we are investing in vehicle monitoring and route planning systems. This new technology, now provided to all of our nationwide kitchen and refrigeration engineers calculates the most efficient route from customer to customer. In addition to a reduction of time spent in traffic this new system will reduce vehicle mileage and the carbon footprint of the vehicles.

As part of our ISO 50001 accreditation, our CSR engagement and ongoing drive to protect the environment we are committing major investment into our new van fleet. Our nationwide engineers will now be generating considerably lower CO² emissions and reduced fuel consumption.

Serviceline achieves ISO 50001 energy management standard. Our continuous ISO engagement ensures Serviceline is first of the Ali Group companies in addition to being considered the first business within the UK catering equipment industry to comply.

Major hotel groups including Hilton and Marriott, universities, stadia operators and contract caterers operating in the UK have already lead the way and qualified for the standard.
